Meet Dr Mitra Shabanian
(Principal Dentist & Co-Owner)
Dr Mitra was inspired to become a dentist, as she enjoys the art and design aspects of dentistry combined with the science of oral healthcare. “I also find it rewarding to help people and make them smile.”
Education and Professional Development
Dr Mitra earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1992 from the University in Isfahan, Iran. She then completed her Ph.D. in Dental Materials in 2000 at the University of Adelaide. Dr Mitra also possesses an ADC certificate.
To stay abreast of the latest in dentistry, Dr Mitra is always updating her knowledge of newer dental technologies and treatments. To do so, she regularly attends professional development courses.
Providing Experienced, Ethical Care
Before deciding to open Serene Smiles Perth with her daughter and practice partner, Dr Parnian, Dr Mitra worked in public and private practices for many years.
For Dr Mitra, the most fulfilling aspect of being a dentist is to provide ethical, quality healthcare to her patients and create a safe and calm environment for them so they feel comfortable at the dentist. She will never recommend services that you don’t need.
In addition to providing general dentistry services and wisdom tooth extractions, Dr Mitra enjoys educating patients about ways to maintain optimal oral health.
